Video: Diane Dimeo of Utica, N.Y., took the show to a commercial break and impressed the anchors. "Nailed it!" said TODAY's Erica Hill.

Diane Dimeo of Utica, N.Y., stopped by the plaza Saturday and was picked from the crowd to be the TODAY plaza Fan of the Day.

Dimeo made an appearance in the Orange Room and took the show to a commercial break by reading off the teleprompter.

Her performance impressed the anchors. She scored a double high five from Lester Holt and a hug from Dylan Dreyer.

"You were fantastic!" Dreyer said.

TODAY producer Joelle Garguilo said Dimeo was chosen because “she was a sweet, lifelong TODAY show fan.”
