On Monday, TODAY set out to answer an age-old question: Is it the newscasters or the sportscasters who generate the most excitement at the Olympic Games?

TODAY decided it was high time to settle the issue, and did so by staging the first-ever Anchor Olympics. With the competition in the books, we left it to the viewers to select the winner. And you have spoken: The "Newsies" will bring home the Anchor Olympics gold(en microphone).

The "Newsies" (Matt Lauer, Natalie Morales, Al Roker, Lester Holt and Savannah Guthrie) competed against the "Sporties" (Scott Hamilton, Mary Carillo, Johnny Weir, Apolo Ohno and Tara Lipinski) in events that included everything from teleprompter reading to a color commentary challenge. (And yes, trash talk was included.)

Check out the competition again and see if you agree — did the "Newsies" deserve to bring home the golden microphone?
