Willie Geist, who begins his new role as co-host of TODAY's 9 a.m. hour on Monday, bid farewell Friday morning to the msnbc show he's hosted for the past three-and-a-half years, "Way Too Early."
Savannah called the program to mark the milestone, welcome him to TODAY — and let him know of a cool new perk.
"You're going to be really excited because we actually when we have guests on our show, we're also able to show them visually," she joked, referring one of the signatures of "Way Too Early" — guests call in via phone. "It's a real advance in technology," Savannah quipped.
But perhaps Willie's new colleague should watch her words: Savannah admitted she was wearing curlers as she chatted over the phone with him.
Watch Willie's goodbye to "Way Too Early," and welcome him to TODAY in the comments below.
