Meredith learned the hard way this morning that you never know who's listening in on your conversations. Who knows -- maybe even an Oscar nominee is eavesdropping on you!
James Franco, who was just nominated for an Academy Award for best actor in his film "127 Hours," was apparently listening in on Meredith and Matt's interview with Colin Firth, who's also nominated in the same category for "The King's Speech."
Franco joked he thought Meredith may be a bit biased -- he heard Meredith tell Firth that she would polish Firth's Oscar statue after he wins the Academy Award.
"I got to hear your whole interview with Colin Firth," he said. "You're going to be polishing his statue, eh Meredith? I guess we know who you're rooting for!"
Meredith joked that she didn't mean to play favorites! "I will polish yours as well," she said, before trying to change the subject. "I'm moving quickly here."
But Matt wouldn't let it go. Later in the interview he said he thought Franco was the favorite to win the category. "I'm going with you!"
"Wow," Franco said. "Let's hope Colin doesn't somehow have his earwig in and is hearing you say that."
Matt was quick to note that Firth couldn't hear him. "He's gone. He can't hear a thing!"
