There are millions of loyal TODAY viewers who watch the show every single day. But of all the fans who tune in from home or visit the Plaza, there’s one in particular who stands out. His name is Linny Boyette. You could call him TODAY’s super fan.

Linny is the familiar face you see every day on the Plaza – rain or shine, snow or sleet, hot or cold – he’s always there.

“It’s something to do every morning. It makes my day,” Linny said.

The 68-year-old has been coming to the show for 18 years. Linny wakes up at 3:30 a.m. to arrive at the Plaza by 5:30, taking the subway from his home in the Bronx, N.Y. After reserving his spot on the Plaza, he likes to get a cup of tea and read the paper before showtime.

Linny’s a military veteran who served in the Army. He’s retired now, and because he has only one immediate family member living, TODAY is like an extended family to him.

“It means togetherness and peacefulness,” Linny said. “It gets better every day, believe it or not. Never a dull moment on this show.”
