What are three things TODAY fans should know about you?

1. I am a morning person! I would get up early even if I didn't have to. Part of the reason I like getting up early is so I can have coffee. I drink jet fuel: extra strong, sometimes with a shot of espresso just to give it an extra kick.

2. I love to give people nicknames. I can't help it!

3. And ... I love to dance. I didn't say I was a good dancer. But -- I love to dance.

What are you most looking forward to as the new 9 a.m. co-anchor?

Getting to hang with Al and Natalie every day! I'm also excited to acquire some new skills, such as cooking! I think my first attempts on the show may not have wowed the others. Word on the street is Al is already gearing up for a cooking intervention.

What types of segments are you most nervous about hosting?

Anything to do with gardening. What is the opposite of a green thumb? That's what I have. But on the plus side, I'm looking forward to learning and expanding my horizons. I even have a tiny bit of outdoor space in my NYC apartment, so maybe I can experiment with some shrubs or a flowerpot.

How have you prepared for the early morning hours? What time will your alarm go off?

Coming from the White House beat, I'm accustomed to the early schedule. I've been getting up at 5 a.m. for a few years now. I'll probably keep those same hours (maybe even a bit earlier). I like to get up, read up on the news (with my coffee!) and feel "awake" by the time the show starts.

Are you excited about moving to New York City? How is that transition going?

I am really excited to move to New York. I lived there briefly a few years back when I worked at Court TV. I lived on the sixth floor of a building with only stairs! This time, I made sure to find a building with an elevator. New York is a such a vibrant city, with so much to do -- and the best part is my friends and family are all planning to visit me (because they want to meet Matt, Ann, Al and Natalie)!
