This morning between weather hits, Al shared some of his thoughts about his kids and his upcoming Father's Day plans for this weekend.

Q: What are your plans for Father's Day this year?

Al: Well, I have been told that I'm not to cook, and I'm not to make breakfast. I'm just supposed to relax, which is very difficult for me. I love making breakfast, but I guess I don't have a choice this weekend. That's the plan, and that's all I know.

Q: Do you have a favorite memory of Father's Day with your kids in the past? Anything that sticks out?

Al: I remember the first time that my daughter Courtney made me Father's Day breakfast. She was about 5 years old, and let me tell you... it was pretty grim. She made pancakes, but they were kind of like pancakes tartar. They were a little underdone in the middle. They were a tad, shall we say, runny. But it was the thought that counts.

Q: What about the fact that you have two young kids, and one child who is much older. You are basically doing two completely different phases of fatherhood simultaneously -- college and elementary school. Is that cool? Is that overwhelming?

Al: No, you know... it is what it is. My dad kind of had the same thing. My youngest brother is almost 18 years younger than I am. So it's like history repeating itself. Sometimes I wake up going "I'm going to be 100 when my youngest goes to college!" [laughs] No, but it's great. It's always exciting.
