If you've been watching our Ends of the Earth coverage this morning, you know that we've been trying to raise awareness about climate change and other environmental issues.

Ever since we announced this series, we've gotten an overwhemlingly positive response, and that has continued today. But we've also gotten some comments, saying that we're acting hypocritically by putting so much carbon into the air to fly our crews to the Arctic, Antarctica and the Equator.

It's a fair question to ask, but rest assured, we've calculated our carbon footprint for these trips, and through GE's energy division and NBC Universal's Green Council, we're working with an organization called the AES Corporation to offset our carbon footprint.
