How's the weather? Frozen, in Al Roker's neck of the woods.
The weatherman appears to turn into a human statue during TODAY's Aug. 16 show. The video became a YouTube sensation, racking up more than 615,000 hits.
So what happened during those 17 long seconds? Was it performance art or the White Witch's curse? Al offered a (less supernatural) explanation Tuesday.
"Our director was egging me on and then I was like, 'How long can I hold this pose?'" he said.
Apparently, Al plays the "freeze frame" game a lot — it's the just the first time the Internet took notice.
"You could have a second career in a wax museum," Savannah joked.
Julieanne Smolinski is a TODAY.com contributor who thinks the Al Freeze should be a new yoga pose.
